ANGER MANAGEMENT GROUP FOR ADULTS
Participants will learn about the different aspects of anger, how to monitor and more adequately manage it, and how the family of origin patterns may have contributed to current expressions of anger.
This is an open group led by Heidi Vernon, AMFT, one of the therapists who works at Sunset Counseling Services in Tooele.
Sessions consist of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as it relates to anger management. The curriculum summarizes core concepts for each session and includes worksheets and homework assignments. A free screening is required prior to being admitted into the group.
Anger management, behavioral issues, and coping skills are addressed.
Group meetings are held Thursday evenings from 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm.
NOJOS GROUP (FOR TEEN BOYS)
Has your son made a serious mistake and sexually abused a child? Are you worried about who they should receive help from to repair this serious mistake? Are you also worried about making the symptoms worse? Do they also need to understand the serious negative effects pornography may have on their future marriage?
We provide a safe, healthy, and structured environment for teenage boys to understand how their sexual offense has impacted many people’s lives. This is accomplished through a gentle and mutually respectful group setting. Our NOJOS (Network On Juveniles Offending Sexually) group is structured to allow the boys to process and learn from their sexual offense and while they are coached on healthy sexual development.
This is an open group led by Evan T. Kenison, LCSW, NOJOS-certified to provide Level 1 and 2 individual and group therapy for young men who have sexually offended against a minor. Evan will work with your child’s probation officer and juvenile court to help them complete the necessary treatment. Evan also works with boys who choose to receive these services voluntarily.
This weekly group meets Thursdays from 4:00 pm to 4:45 pm.
Please contact us if you are interested in attending.
